Hootsuite allows you to keep an eye on all of your social media activity – including mentions, posts, and feeds – from a centralised dashboard, making it incredibly easy to build, measure and maintain your social media presence.

What it is: Infogr.am, as the name suggests, is an app that allows you to easily create beautiful, clean infographics and charts to post to your website or social media accounts.
Why you should be using it: Infographics are great for boosting engagement – 45% more web users will click on a link if it features an infographic, and 30% of those users will share that info. With Infogr.am, you don’t need a graphic design team to help you create them.
Pricing: Like Hootsuite, Infogr.am is based on a freemium model, with a free basic offering. The pro version starts at US$15.00 a month.
What it is: Bitly is a URL shortening service, which initially rose to popularity on Twitter.
Why you should be using it: Bitly’s bread-and-butter is URL shortening, but their strength lies in the fact that you can track how many people have clicked on your bit.ly link. This analytical tool is great for tracking which of your social networks is getting the most engagement, as well as getting a sense of what kind of content is working best for you.
Pricing: Free. Bitly does offer a premium service, but tailors pricing for each user.
What it is: Socialbro is an analytics application that gives you powerful insights into your Twitter community.
Why you should be using it: Despite the fact that Twitter is one of the most popular social media platforms for financial advisers, it can often feel like shouting into an abyss, especially when you’re starting out. Social Bro helps you analyse your Twitter activity, so you can gain an understanding of your followers, mutual follows, people who unfollow your feed and more. By understanding your Twitter community, you can better tailor your tweets to appeal to your followers.
Pricing: Social Bro offers users a free plan, that allows you to utilise a number of great analytical tools. If you’d like to unlock other tools and features, paid plans start at US$13.95 a month.
What it is: Powtoon is a web app that allows you to quickly and easily create animated explainer videos and presentations.
Why you should be using it: If you’ve been doing your homework on what financial advisers should be doing online, you’ll no doubt have heard that you should be creating videos. The problem, of course, is that video can be incredibly difficult to do well – and you’re much better off having no video than a grainy, poorly-framed video with bad sound. Powtoon offers a great solution, by allowing you to create slick animated videos using a number of provided templates, objects, images and music.
Pricing: Powtoon offers an impressive amount of functionality under its free plan, but if you want to upgrade, plans start at US$19.00 a month.
