2018 was a huge year here at Advant. We not only extended our content offering but we also introduced a number of changes to streamline the user experience.
We often roll out updates incrementally, so today we thought it would be a good idea to review the progress we made in the year that was, and make sure you’re making the most of the evolved platform.
One of the biggest changes we released last year was our social media scheduling tool. What this means is you can now plan SM posts in advance, giving you more freedom with your workflow. Many advisers now schedule a month’s worth of posts on the day of our content release, meaning their online marketing for the month is relatively touch free.
To schedule a post, simply change the date and time below the free text field after clicking “post to facebook”. If you then want to edit or delete scheduled posts you can find them under “menu” > “scheduled posts”.
We know how time poor most advisers are, so we are always trying to make the creation of our newsletters as simple as possible. That’s why we made a few tweaks last year to streamline the process.
Formerly, uploading photos as well as creating or editing custom articles was all done in a separate screen to where you create the newsletter. That’s all changed, and you can now upload photos and edit articles as you build your newsletter.
If you want to upload a photo, the simplest way is to drag and drop your desired file from your computer directly into the newsletter.
If you wish to add your own custom article, simply click the blue New article button at the top of the article list.
A pop-up box will then appear for you to add your title, photo and body copy.
If, on the other hand, you want to edit one of our articles, simply select the article title from the list and a preview will appear in a pop-up box. At the bottom will be the option to edit the article. Click “Edit” and make changes as desired.
Perhaps our proudest achievement last year was the introduction of economic update videos. These were initially run as a trial but we are now delighted to announce they will become part of our regular offering at no extra cost to our clients.
Released the same day as the cash rate—the first Tuesday of the month—they are perfect for sending out to your social media networks, or via email in the form of a snapshot.
As the financial services sector continues to evolve so too does both our platform and content offering. We are always trying to stay ahead of industry trends and offer our clients the best possible user experience. And we’re really proud of the updates we made last year as well as the ones we’ve got in the pipeline (WordPress Integration and specialty “boosted posts” are ones to watch out for).
